It was a tough 10km with more than 5 long hill climbs at Bukit Cinta University of Malaya. Managed to do sub 6mins/km average up until 5km mark but then it all went downhill afterwards. Hills upon hills, then U-turns, it makes the course very challenging and not enough recovery time for me. Unlike last year, it was a 3 loops around the place but this year, they make us to do quick turn several times to make up for the distance. We also have to stop 5 times at the checkpoints for stickers, just to make sure that people don't cheat. Not a place to record your PB, definitely. Normally, my heart rate would rarely go up above 95% in a 10km run, but for this one, it went up 98% for a good period of time. The hills were killing me. Time recorded was around 1:03 mins (10km) for about 6:22mins/km pace. Terrible wasn't it?
It was a good race nevertheless and I intend to come back stronger next year. The medal was nice anyway. The place is also good for weekend hill training. I guess the more struggle that you have in training, the easier it becomes for you to handle your race.
